The three founding directors, Evan Jankelowitz, Mohamed Kalla and Kundayi Munzara co-manage the Sesfikile BCI Property Fund and the Sesfikile BCI Global Property Fund. Together they hold investment experience of over 35 years in the listed property sector, making them one of the most experienced teams in the market.

Evan is a co-founder and executive director of Sesfikile Capital. He holds a BCom Hons (Financial Management) degree from the University of Johannesburg and Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation. Evan started his career at Stanlib where he started out in the Wealth division representing teams such as Structured and Alternative Investments as well as Product Development. He soon moved on to Asset management as an analyst primarily focused on listed property; and then took on the role as co-Head of the Listed Property Franchise. During his tenure at Stanlib, the team grew the franchise to being the largest listed property manager in South Africa and achieved several number 1 performance rankings across 3 and 5 year investment periods.

Mohamed is a co-founder and executive director of Sesfikile Capital. He holds a BCom (Investment Management) degree from the University of Pretoria & Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has extensive experience in the listed property sector as a rated analyst and portfolio manager. Mohamed started his career at RMB Asset Management as part of their Institute of Investment Excellence programme and subsequently worked at Barnard Jacobs Mellet Securities, where he spent 5 years as a Research Analyst and was one of the top-rated sell-side analysts in the Real Estate sector. During his time at BJM, Mohamed was instrumental in the design and implementation of BJM’s internal research database systems.

Kundayi is a co-founder and executive director of Sesfikile Capital. He holds a BSc. (Hons) in Property Studies from the University of Cape Town (UCT). He completed UK Financial Services Authority (“FSA”) exams for approved person status and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation. He began his career at Old Mutual Properties as a property valuer, and in 2005 continued at Investec Private Bank’s property risk team valuing properties for lending purposes. He then moved to Investec Property Investments as a buy-side analyst and was subsequently appointed head of research for the investment team. Kundayi also played a key role in the development of Investec’s global listed property offering and co-managed bespoke private client Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) portfolios in London.

Naeem is a qualified Chartered Accountant CA (SA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder with 11 years of experience in the listed property sector. After obtaining a Bachelor of Accountancy degree at the University of Witwatersrand, Naeem began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Before joining Sesfikile, Naeem was an executive director and senior listed property analyst at Avior Capital Markets, where he was awarded the Financial Mail’s top-rated analyst award for three consecutive years by industry peers..
Global REIT Analyst
Anil holds a Masters in Economic Science from the University of Witwatersrand. He started his career at Cadiz FSG Securities as a quantitative economist and strategy research assistant. Thereafter he moved to Standard Bank in the operational risk team which was responsible for designing and maintaining the risk maps for the bank. After gaining some banking experience Anil moved to Vunani Securities in the role of sell-side Equity Analyst focussing at the listed property sector. Anil is currently completing his Masters in Property Studies at the University of Cape Town.
Nalika holds a BCom (Finance and Economics) from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Her first exposure to the financial markets was in London in 2005 where she joined Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Investment team and subsequently moved to Fidelity International Limited and was a part of the Institutional Sales team, gaining operational experience to various aspects of investment assets and investment management. She then moved to Investec Bank in South Africa and joined the Securities Private Clients division, where she spent the last 5 years on the equities trading desk in an operational capacity.
Tintswalo holds a BSc. (Mathematical Techniques and Economics) from The University of the Witwatersrand and began her career at Investec Asset Management in 2007 as a Client Services Consultant. She then moved to RMB Unit Trust Limited, where she gained further experience in various aspects of client services and administration. In 2011 Tintswalo then moved to Silica Holdings, as a Query analyst and subsequently joined the Specialist Administration team as a Specialist Administrator, gaining experience in the Third Party Administrator space. In addition to the aforementioned experience Tintswalo has accumulated an in-depth understanding of the Collective Investment Schemes.
Albert holds a BCom (Economics and International Trade) and Bcom (Hons) in Economics from the North West University. He began his career at Eskom Pension and Provident fund in 2016 as an Intern. He subsequently moved to Sanlam Employee Benefits as an Investment Pricing Specialist where he gained further experience in various aspects of investment administration.
Nolwazi holds a Diploma in Public Relations Management from the Tshwane University of Technology. She started her career in 2011 and served various roles in media and public relations. After gaining valuable experience in this arena, Nolwazi joined Valostar159 in 2016 as an Executive PA and Office Manager. Here she gained extensive experience as an executive PA while at the same time performed many other operational functions within the business.
